Owner, Barbara Bouchard, has worked in the photography business for over 20 years. Training in college, ongoing training in online courses, and attendance at seminars throughout the country have enabled Barbara to amass a wealth of knowledge of portrait photography.
As a young photographer, Barbara majored in Art with a concentration in Photography and a minor in theater. She has worked at a variety of professional laboratories and studios throughout the Northshore of Massachusetts and Central New England.
Eight years ago, Barbara started doing portraiture for local families, part time, utilizing medium format film photography and natural light. As demand increased, she also started offering studio lighting in a home setting for the convenience of her customers.
Four years ago, finally caving into the enormous technological gains of recent years, Barbara upgraded all of her equipment to digital and launched the business you know of as Beaver Creek Portraits.
The equipment used by Beaver Creek Portraits is always evolving and being updated. Once, a staunch film shooter, Barbara now revels in the creative and deep possibilities of the digital world. She participates in new training constantly to be able to provide for her customers the very best and most recent developments in the digital photography world. She now shoots with a Canon 40D as her main camera body and a variety of top-of-the-line glass.
Barbara is a proud mother to three children, her oldest serves proudly in the US military and the younger two are teenagers still at home. Happily married for many years, she and her husband are actively involved in their children's lives through coaching sports and volunteering at the local schools. She also works part time in the early mornings at a local fitness center, combining her love for creativity and the need to be active and healthy.
